Some sites are built with hero images. These are images that sit at the top of the page with the page title over them. They usually fill the width of the page and only appear on sub pages:
UPDATING THE HERO IMAGE
Just go to Panels and the look for the panel called "hero" or "hero image" or "Subpage hero". Names may vary depending on how your site has been built.
Just click on the panel name and you will see an image. Right click and choose 'Image Properties'.
Click on BROWSE FILES and choose or upload a new image from the media manager.
The size of the image required will vary from site to site but a width of 1400 pixels wide is common. If you want to match the image we have set for you just find the image in the media manager.
TIPS:
- Images with a more abstract feel are best as they will be "wallpaper" behind the text.
- Avoid using images with text on them, they won't work well.
- Remember that the image will be stretched for the best fit on different devices like tablet and mobile, so some of the images may be cropped. Using a crowd shot may result in some people losing their heads!
HAVING DIFFERENT IMAGES ON DIFFERENT PAGES
By default, one image will appear on all pages of the site, but you can also control which pages they show on.
STEP 1
When editing the panel click on "Panel Options" in the bottom right then select the 'Restrictions' tab.
STEP 2
Then select "This panel will ONLY appear on selected pages." and select your content from the list of pages and content below.
TIPS
- Keep it simple otherwise, there will be a lot to maintain
- If you want to have a default image set just in case a hero image hasn't been assigned you can raise a ticket or contact your Account Manager.
