By default, a homepage or welcome page will be created when a back office is first built. This page can be edited with your content.
But you can set any page to be the homepage. This means that you can work on a separate page for it to become the homepage at a later date. This is especially helpful pre-show for example so you can set up different homepages for each day and simply swap the homepage when onsite rather than spending precious time working on the whole page from scratch.
When in the back office, all you need to do is...
- Go to Pages
- The current homepage will have a house icon to the left of the page title
- Scroll to find the page that you want to become the new homepage and hover over Edit Page and select Set as Homepage (there's no need to drag and drop the page to a new position in the page list).
As a best practice guide, to be sure that search engines do not pick up your future (or previous) homepage(s), we recommend you set any pages you don't want to be found to be Inactive and only make them Active when in use.
