Adding a YouTube video to a page or panel – ASP Knowledge Base

Adding a YouTube video to your website is really easy peasy.

STEP 1

You will need to visit YouTube first.

When you are on the same page as the video you want to add click on the Share link and then Embed. You will then see some code pop up which you will need to copy (CTRL+C).

STEP 2

Nearly there!

Go back to Showoff and edit your page/panel.

Click into a new or existing section and then click on the magic wand (not really magic, but it is quite cool):

You will see a pop up load, look for a widget called "3rd Party Code" and click on it.

On the next box either right-click and choose "paste" or you can CTRL+V to paste:

When you click on INSERT WIDGET that's done.

SAVE! Then view your lovely page with a video in it.

TIPS

If you want your video to be a certain size you can click on the SHOW MORE button and enter a custom width (the height will calculate automatically). A big video usually looks better in your site, a small one may cause the visitor to leave your site to see it bigger.
If you want to change the thumbnail image shown on your video, YouTube lets you choose an image. They have a help page here:
