Fixing Website URL Character Limit for Exhibitors in Backoffice (Showoff)

Overview

In the Backoffice system (Showoff), all fields—including newly created custom fields—are set to a default maximum character limit of 50 characters.

This can cause an issue in the Exhibitors module, where longer website URLs are cut off when editing or saving exhibitor details.

Issue

When adding or editing an exhibitor’s website URL:

• The full URL cannot be pasted or saved
• Any characters beyond the 50-character limit are truncated

This results in incomplete or broken links.

Solution

You can resolve this by increasing the maximum character limit for the Website URL field.

Steps to Fix

1. Navigate to:
   Modules > Exhibitors
2. Click on:
   More
3. Select:
   Field Setup
4. Go to the:
   General section
5. Locate the field:
   Website URL
6. Update the Max Length value:
   • Change from: 50
   • To: 5000 (or another higher value as needed)
7. Save your changes

Result

• Longer website URLs can now be added without being cut off
• Exhibitor entries will store full, valid links
