π οΈ How to Set Up a Filtered Widget Using Categories
Categories let you filter widgets and display organised, categorised content from modules like Libraries, Speakers, Seminars, and Exhibitors, making your pages easier to navigate.
1οΈβ£ Create a Category β Group your filterable items
Start by creating a main category that will hold all the filter options.
π Steps:
Go to Settings > Categories
Click Add Category
Enter a unique code (e.g.,
CS0)Add a category title under all required languages (e.g., βSpeaker Typeβ)
Click πΎ Save
2οΈβ£ Add Options to the Category β Define the filter choices
Next, create individual options within the category so users can filter by them.

Click Add Category for each option
Enter a unique code (e.g.,
CS001,CS002)Add the option label under all languages
Click πΎ Save
Repeat for all options
3οΈβ£ Assign the Category to a Page β Decide where it applies
Now assign the category to the specific page(s) where the filtered content should appear.
π Steps:
Go to Assigned To tab
Expand your site name
Select the page(s) where the category applies (e.g., Speakers or Exhibitors page)
Click πΎ Save
4οΈβ£ Tag Data in Modules β Connect entries to your categories
Tag the relevant entries in each module so the filter can work correctly.

π€ Speakers β Speaker Options > Advanced Settings > Categories to Tag
π Libraries β Entry Options
π Seminars β Session Options

πΉ Make sure all entries are tagged with the correct category options
5οΈβ£ Add the Filtered Widget to a Page β Display filtered content
Finally, add the widget to your page and configure it to filter by your categories.

Go to Pages β select or create a page
Add a new section β select Widget
Under Your Shows, pick the module (e.g., Speakers)
Go to Search & Filters tab
Scroll to your category β tick the option(s) to filter
Click πΎ Save
β The widget will now display only the filtered, tagged content
