Excel converts categories to numbers and lots of 000's

SHOWOFF exports data in a CSV format. Excel will try and convert any comma separated data into numbers. This usually happens with Site Category Codes.

To open and preserve the data follow these steps:

• Open a blank sheet in Excel
• Go to Data > Import (Text)
• Choose Files of All Types
• Choose to open your CSV file

This will activate the Text Import Wizard:

• Choose "Delimited" and "My data has headers" then NEXT
• Uncheck "Tab Delimited" and check "Comma Delimited" then NEXT
• Highlight all columns (select first, hold shift, then select last column) and choose Column Data is "Text"
• Select Import/Finish to Existing Worksheet

The data should open with all codes and leading zeros preserved. You can then save your file.
