Overview
In Showoff, merge fields allow you to display dynamic content that automatically pulls information from exhibitor fields into Ezone 2. This enables personalised content, such as banners or registration URLs, for each exhibitor.
Steps to Use Merge Fields for Personalised Content
1. Create a Custom Field for the Content
- Go to Modules > Exhibitors > Field Setup > General
- Click Add Custom Field
- Create a new field (e.g.,
Personalised Banner) and set the type to Text - Increase the Max Length from 50 to a higher value (e.g., 5000)
- Save the custom field
2. Populate the Custom Field
- Enter the URL of the personalised banner for each exhibitor
- This can be done:
- Manually
- Using bulk import
- Through integrations from other platforms (e.g., Gleanin)
3. Link the Custom Field to Ezone 2 Pages
- Go to Settings > Site Settings > General > Global Merge Fields
- Find the merge field for your custom content (e.g.,
{{personalised-banner}}) - Copy the merge field tag
- Navigate to Modules > Zone > Add New Page
- Select Page Type > URL
- Under the URL field, paste the merge field tag (e.g.,
{{personalised-banner}}) - Save the page
✅ The system will now automatically display the unique personalised banner for each exhibitor when they access this page in Ezone 2.
Tips
- Merge fields can also be used in menu items or other dynamic content areas in Ezone 2.
- Always preview pages to ensure merge fields populate correctly.
