When transitioning from the Classic E-Zone to E-Zone 2, it’s important to understand that these are two separate systems with different structures and functionality. Because of this, content cannot be automatically migrated using the site copier tool.
Instead, the Classic E-Zone remains available in a read-only state, allowing you to manually recreate or copy content into E-Zone 2.
If you are considering moving to E-Zone 2, we recommend contacting your account manager, who can provide a detailed demo of the updated functionality and guide you through the transition.
Before You Begin
To ensure a smooth transition, we recommend completing the following checks:
1. Confirm the Correct E-Zone Login URL
The E-Zone 2 login URL can be found in:
Modules > Zone > Settings tabFor example, if the URL value is
_zone_, the full login URL will be:https://yourdomain/_zone_#/
Make sure this is the link being shared with users.
2. Review Welcome Emails
Navigate to: Modules > Zone > Emails tab
Check that the correct URL token is being used.
If any manual links have been added (e.g. “Click here to access our E-Zone”), ensure they point to E-Zone 2.
3. Update Saved or Historical Links
Users may still be using outdated bookmarks or previously saved links. This can lead to login issues or confusion.
Communicate clearly that the E-Zone link has changed.
Ask users to update any saved bookmarks.
4. Check for Old Links on Your Website
If your site has been copied or reused from a previous event, there may still be references to the Classic E-Zone.
Review your website front-end, especially exhibitor-related pages.
Update any outdated E-Zone links to point to E-Zone 2.
5. Recognise Classic vs E-Zone 2 Login Pages
The Classic E-Zone and E-Zone 2 login pages look different:
Classic E-Zone login page: Displays username and password fields, but login will not work.
E-Zone 2 login page: Fully functional and required for access.
If users report login issues, ensure they are using the correct page.
Troubleshooting Login Issues
Multiple Exhibitor Contacts Cannot Log In
If multiple users are unable to log in, and the “Log in as” feature in the Exhibitor CMS also fails:
Go to: Settings > ASP Only Settings
Open the Event Settings tab
Ensure E-Zone 2 is enabled under Modules and Configuration
Save the settings
Clear caches
Try logging in again
A Specific User Cannot Log In After Password Reset
If only one user is affected, follow these steps:
Test “Log in as” in the CMS
Confirm whether access works via the CMS.Check for duplicate or incorrect records
Review the contact in the database for any inconsistencies.Create a test contact
Add a new contact and repeat the password reset process to compare behaviour.Manually reset the password
Update the user’s password in the CMS and test logging in with it.
If the Issue Persists
If none of the above steps resolve the issue:
Confirm the user is accessing the correct E-Zone 2 URL
Ask the user to share their password reset link so it can be reviewed
Check for invalid characters in the password
As a last step, manually set a password in the CMS and securely share it with the user
Summary
Because the Classic E-Zone and E-Zone 2 are fundamentally different, migration requires manual setup and careful validation. Most issues are caused by outdated links or incorrect login URLs, so ensuring these are updated will prevent the majority of problems.
