Want to capture extra info for your seminar sessions? Whether it’s a URL, extra text, or multiple-choice options, adding a custom field in Showoff is easier than you think! Follow these steps and make your sessions even smarter. ✨
Step 1: Head to the Seminar Module
Go to Modules → Seminar in your Showoff backend.
Step 2: Pick Your Seminar Programme
Click on the seminar programme where you want to add the custom field.
Step 3: Open Custom Field Options
Hover over More → Custom Field → Create Custom Field. This is where the magic begins. ✨
Step 4: Choose Your Field Type
Decide what kind of info you want to capture:
Text – Free text input
Textarea/WYSIWYG – Perfect for longer content
Checkbox, Dropdown, Selection, Radio – Great for multiple-choice questions
And more options available to choose from
Step 5: Add a Field Label
Give your field a name under Label. Make it descriptive so users know exactly what to enter.
Step 6: Set Field Options
Mandatory? Untick if you don’t want users forced to fill it every time.
Max Field Length: The default is 50, but you can increase it if your field needs more space (useful for URLs or long text).
Step 7: Add Prefilled Options (for Multiple-Choice Fields)
If you chose Checkbox, Dropdown, Selection, or Radio, scroll to the bottom and add the options you want users to select from. ✅
Step 8: Save & Celebrate! 🎉
Click Save → Your custom field is live and ready to use!

Plan your field type carefully. The right type keeps your data organised and your sessions looking great.
Extra Useful: Custom fields are especially handy if you want to separate sessions under different labels to filter them across different sections or pages.
