Yes — Showoff allows you to translate category labels into multiple languages. The language options available on your site depend on the language locales configured in your Client Settings.
If you would like to enable additional languages, please contact our support team and we can add them for you.
How to Translate Existing Categories
Go to Settings > Categories
Click on the category you would like to translate
In the top-right corner, hover over More
Click Translate
Under each available language, click the + icon
Enter the translated label
Click Save
The translated label will now display for users viewing the site in that selected language.
How to Create a New Multi-Language Category
If you are creating a brand-new category set, follow these steps carefully to ensure translations work correctly:
Step 1: Create the Parent Category
Go to Settings > Categories
Click Add Category (top-right corner)
Enter a unique Code (e.g.
CS0)Under Label, you will see all available language fields
Enter the category title in each language field
Click Save
⚠️ It is important to complete all language fields at this stage. This ensures that when you add category options, the same language fields will be available.
Step 2: Add Category Options
Open your newly created category
Click Add Category again (to add options within this set)
Enter a unique code (e.g.
CS001,CS002, etc.)Add the label under each available language field
Click Save
Repeat this process to add additional category options.
Step 3: Add Child Categories (If Required)
If your structure includes child categories:
Go to the relevant parent category
Click on the Add Child Category
Enter a unique code
Add translated labels under each language field
Click Save
The same translation process applies to child category items.
How Translations Display on the Website
Once translations are added:
Users viewing the site in a specific language will see the correct translated category labels.
The displayed language depends on the user's selected site language or their device/browser locale settings (if configured).
