Speakers assigned to seminar sessions can be displayed in a custom order on the front end of your website. This is useful when sessions include multiple speakers and the default ordering does not match the required running order.
An example of multiple speakers displayed on a session can be seen here:
https://showcase.asp.events/community/seminar-programme
Speaker ordering can be managed in two ways:
Manually within the CMS
Through bulk updates using CSV imports
Option 1: Reordering Speakers Manually in the CMS
To manually adjust the speaker order for a specific session:
In the CMS, navigate to Modules > Seminars
Select the programme you wish to edit
Locate and select the session you would like to update
-
Within the session details, find the Speakers field
This field allows you to assign any speaker already added to the platform (active or inactive)
Only active speaker records will be displayed on the website
-
The order speakers are added in this field determines the order they appear on the front end
To reorder, remove and re-add speakers in the desired sequence
-
Save the session
Changes will be applied immediately and reflected on the live site
Option 2: Reordering Speakers via CSV Import
For larger updates across multiple sessions, speaker order can be updated more efficiently using a CSV import.
Steps:
-
Prepare your CSV file using the correct speaker import format
Requirements and templates are available here:
https://support.asp.events/hc/en-us/articles/360013209691-Adding-Speakers
-
Locate the Speakers column within the file
This column controls which speakers are associated with each session
-
Ensure speakers are listed in the correct order
The order in the CSV will dictate the display order on the website
Multiple speakers must be comma-separated
Speaker codes are recommended over names, as they reduce the risk of typos or duplicate records (e.g., multiple speakers with the same name)
-
Complete the import into the platform
In most cases, this should be run as an Update Only import
Further best practice guidance can be found here:
https://support.asp.events/hc/en-us/articles/32855981756829-Speaker-Images-Formats-Sizing-Uploading
Once the import is complete, the session speaker order in the CMS will update to match the CSV, and the website will reflect the new ordering automatically
This method is recommended when updating speaker order across multiple sessions at once.
Important: Automated Seminar Feeds
If your website is connected to an automated third-party seminar/session feed, speaker ordering must also be managed at the source system.
Manual changes made in the CMS or via CSV may be overwritten if the automated feed continues to sync and does not reflect the updated order.
If you require further assistance with speaker ordering or session configuration, please contact the support team.
