Event Schema is a type of structured data—behind-the-scenes code that helps Google and other search engines understand the key details of your event.
When added correctly, it can unlock enhanced search listings, showing rich information like your event date, venue, organiser, and more—directly in Google’s search results.
This kind of visibility can:
- Increase click-through rates
- Build credibility
- Help your event stand out from the competition
Such as this:
How to Add Event Schema in the ASP Platform
In your ASP website dashboard, you can easily add Event Schema by going to:
Settings > SEO Settings > Event Schema
We recommend filling out as many fields as possible. The more complete and accurate your data, the better your chances of appearing in rich search results.
Note - if you do not fill these out, you get the warning in SEO Settings, see:
Event Schema Fields – What to Enter
Here’s a breakdown of each field and what you should include:
✅ Enable Event Schema
Turn this on to activate schema for your event.
📝 Event Description
Add a short, clear sentence describing your event. Example: “FutureTech Expo brings together global tech innovators, startups, and business leaders to explore trends in AI, robotics, and digital transformation.” Make this unique—avoid reusing generic or repeated content.
📌 Event Type
Select the format of your event—Conference, Expo, Webinar, etc.
👤 Organiser Name
Enter the name of the organisation running the event. Example: FutureTech Media Group
🌐 Organiser URL
Link to the organiser’s main website. Example: https://futuretechmedia.com/
🖼️ Organiser Logo
Paste the URL of the organiser’s logo. Use a clean, high-quality image hosted online. Example: https://cdn.asp.events/.../futuretech-logo.png
📱 Organiser Social Profiles
Add the URLs of the organiser’s social media accounts, separated by commas. Example: https://twitter.com/futuretech, https://facebook.com/futuretechexpo
📅 Event Status
Choose whether the event is scheduled, postponed, cancelled, etc.
📍 Event Attendance Mode
Specify how attendees can join:
- Offline (physical location)
- Online (virtual only)
- Mixed (both)
📣 Event Social Profiles
Add any social media accounts specifically for the event (optional).
🏢 Venue
Choose your venue from the “Manage Venues” section. Make sure the address is accurate.
🌍 Country
Select the country where the event takes place.
👥 Estimated Visitors
Provide the estimated number of attendees. For Example: 2,500
🏬 Estimated Exhibitors
If applicable, include the estimated number of exhibitors. For Example: 180
Tips for Getting It Right
- Be specific – No placeholder text. Use real event details.
- Write a unique event description – It helps search engines understand and rank your event.
- Use a valid organiser logo – Avoid broken or missing image links.
- Double-check accuracy – Before publishing your site, make sure all fields are complete and correct.
- Update details – As your event plans evolve, keep your schema updated too.
How to Check Your Event Schema
You can test your schema using Google’s Rich Results Test tool:
Paste in your homepage URL and click “Test URL” to see which structured data is detected and whether it’s eligible for rich results.
Google Search Console Warning: What If There Are Issues?
Sometimes, you may receive a message in Google Search Console like this:
Events structured data issues detected on your site
The following fields are missing from your Event Schema:
Common non-critical issues include:
- Missing field 'offers'
- Missing field 'description'
- Missing field 'organizer'
- Missing field 'eventStatus'
- Missing field 'eventAttendanceMode'
🔍 These are non-critical issues, meaning your page can still appear in search results. But fixing them improves the richness of your listing and avoids future issues if these fields become required.
If you get a warning, review the Event Schema section in your ASP dashboard and ensure all relevant fields are filled in.
Note on 'Performer' and 'Offers' Fields
If Search Console flags performer or offers as missing, don’t worry—these are optional and currently not available in the ASP back office. Their absence won’t significantly affect your visibility, but it’s worth feeding back to ASP if you'd like to see support for them in future updates.
