The media manager is designed to hold images and documents for use on the website.
IMAGES
- Be in .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png or .svg format.
- Be RGB format (CMYK images will be converted)
- Be no bigger than 1MB
By default, images will be resized to a maximum width and height of 2048 pixels. This will ensure the images can be used full width or within a 4 columns layout. There is no real "ideal" size as images are resized constantly for use on different devices.
TIPS:
- JPG or JPEG - Standard image format. Best for photographic imagery.
- GIF - Good for graphics with limited colours. Not photos.
- PNG - These are good for images with a transparent background as it keeps it transparent.
- SVG - Scalable vector Graphics are best used for show logos. They are small files and super crisp no matter how big you make them.
- Images will be stretched to fit in most situations so be aware that some of the images may be cut off sometimes. For that reason, it's best to choose more abstract images.
- Close up photos work better than photos from afar. When a detailed crowd shot is viewed on mobile it will just look like a pattern.
FILES
You can also upload PDF files which will be "read" by search engines and therefore count to your SEO incrementally.
