Previously called Google Webmaster Tools, Google Search Console (GSC) is a free tool provided by Google that allows webmasters and site owners to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot their website’s presence in Google Search results.

🔹 How to Add Your Verification Tag in Showoff

STEP 1
Go to Settings > SEO Settings n the CMS.

STEP 2
Google will provide a verification tag. Copy the content value inside the quotes.

Example Tag:

STEP 3
Paste this value into the Google (Webmaster) Site Verification Code field (located in the General tab).

STEP 4
Click Save to apply your changes.

🛠 Tips & Troubleshooting

  • Double-check your tag – Make sure you are copying only the content value and not the surrounding meta tag code.

  • Clear caching – Some CMS caching or CDN tools may delay Google seeing your verification. Clear caches or wait a few minutes.

  • Use the correct field – Paste the tag in the Google Site Verification Code field in Showoff, not in any other SEO fields.

  • Multiple verification methods – If the meta tag doesn’t work, consider alternative GSC verification methods like uploading an HTML file or using DNS verification.

  • Verify immediately – After saving the code, click Verify in GSC to confirm Google sees your site as verified.

Once verified, you can access GSC to monitor your website’s performance, fix issues, and improve your SEO strategy effectively.
