Adding advertising slots to your event website is one of the most effective ways to generate additional revenue while increasing visibility for your exhibitors, sponsors, and partners.
Both Composer and Custom ASP websites support a variety of advertising formats, allowing you to monetise high-traffic areas of your site.
Types of Advertising Slots
Depending on your website setup, you can use the following formats:
Composer Websites
- MPUs (Mid Page Units)
Ideal for embedding within page content - Leaderboards
Typically placed in panel areas such as below the hero or between sections
Custom Websites
- MPUs and Leaderboards
- Skyscrapers
Vertical ads positioned on the sides of pages, often used for:- Site takeovers
- High-impact campaigns
Where to Place Advertising
To maximise visibility and revenue potential, place adverts on high-traffic pages such as:
- Exhibitor listings
- Seminar or conference programmes
- Registration or booking pages
- Homepage
How to Add Advertising to Your Website
There are two main ways to add adverts:
Option 1: Upload Artwork via the CMS
- Upload your advert image to the Media Manager
- Navigate to Panels or Page Content
- Add an Image / Eye-Catcher widget
- Select your image
- Add a destination link (internal, external, or campaign tracker)
- Save and publish
Option 2: Use Google Ads
- Create and manage your ads within your Google Ads account
- Copy the provided third-party script
- In the CMS:
- Add a Third Party Code widget
- Paste the script into the widget
- Save and publish
Note: ASP can assist with script installation but does not manage Google Ads accounts.
Monetisation Tips
- Sell advertising on a time basis (e.g. weekly or monthly slots)
- Increase pricing during peak traffic periods
- Offer bundled packages with sponsorship or exhibitor upgrades
- Use premium placements (homepage, booking pages) for higher-tier sponsors
