When repointing your domain to ASP, you will be provided with a set of DNS records that need to be added to your domain registrar.
Step 1: SSL Certificate Validation
Initially, you will receive a CNAME record.
This is required to verify your domain and assign an SSL certificate.
All ASP websites are launched with a secure SSL certificate applied as standard.
Step 2: Pointing Your Domain to ASP
Once your website is ready to go live, your Project Manager will provide:
2 A records
1 CNAME record
These records point your domain to ASP’s servers.
In most cases, these will replace your existing DNS records. However, if you are unsure, please check with the ASP team before making any changes to avoid unintended downtime.
How to Check Your DNS Records in the CMS
At any point during the show cycle, you can confirm which DNS records are connected to ASP via the CMS:
Go to Settings
Select Site Settings
Navigate to the Domain Migration Settings section
Here you will see:
The 2 A records
The 1 CNAME record
Under the Record Value column, a tick will indicate that the record is live and correctly configured.
Troubleshooting Downtime
If you do not see three ticks displayed:
First, confirm with your domain registrar that the DNS records have been entered correctly.
If the records are correct and you are still experiencing downtime, please contact the ASP team immediately and we will investigate further.
