Overview
The Media Manager includes a Check Usage feature that allows you to see whether an image is currently being used anywhere on your website. This helps you safely identify unused files and keep your Media Manager organised and performant.
How to Check Image Usage
Log in to the back office of the site you want to edit.
Navigate to Media Manager.
Select the file you want to check.
A pop-up will appear displaying file details such as:
Unique URL
File size
Date created
Image dimensions
At the bottom of the pop-up, click Check Usage.
Understanding the Results
If the image is in use, the system will show:
Where the image has been added (e.g. a page, panel, or module entry)
The title of the associated page, panel, or entry, so you can easily locate it in the CMS
Examples include exhibitor logos or speaker images used within modules
If the image is not in use, the following message will be displayed:
“This file is currently not being used anywhere in Showoff.”
Best Practice
Using the Check Usage feature regularly is a simple way to keep your Media Manager tidy throughout the year. If files are no longer required, we strongly recommend deleting them to:
Improve Media Manager performance
Make navigation easier
Reduce clutter and improve file organisation
