When updating a page in ShowOff, it can sometimes be difficult to locate the exact panel or section you need to edit, especially on pages with multiple layouts, CTAs, or dynamic content. Composer 2 includes a View in Edit Mode feature to make this process much easier.
Use “View in Edit Mode” to locate page sections
View in Edit Mode allows you to interact directly with the page layout, helping you quickly identify where content lives and which panel controls it.
Step-by-step: finding the correct panel or section
Navigate to the page you want to update
Open the page within ShowOff that contains the content you’re trying to edit.Enable View in Edit Mode
In the bottom-right corner of the screen, select:
View → View in Edit ModeInteract with the page in preview mode
The page will open in a preview-style layout, but with edit functionality enabled. You can now click directly on sections of the page to identify the panel or section they belong to.Confirm you’re in Edit Mode
When Edit Mode is active, you’ll see a message fixed to the bottom of the page that says:
“You’re currently in edit mode. Switch to preview mode.”
What can you click on?
While in Edit Mode, you can click on the most visible elements within the page, including:
Hero banners
Headers and text blocks
CTAs (buttons and links)
Content sections and panels
Clicking an element highlights it or takes you directly to the corresponding panel or section in Composer, so you can make updates without guessing where the content is managed.
Why this is useful.
Saves time when working with complex pages
Removes the need to search through multiple panels
Makes it easier to understand how a page is structured
Reduces the risk of editing the wrong section
Using View in Edit Mode is the quickest and most reliable way to locate and update the correct panel or section within ShowOff.
