Cloudflare is a global service that helps protect, optimize, and speed up websites. It acts as a middle layer between your website and its visitors, providing security, performance improvements, and reliability features.
In simple terms, Cloudflare can help make your website faster, safer, and more resilient against online threats.
⚠️ Note: Cloudflare is completely optional. ASP’s hosting and servers are already secure, so this service is purely an additional layer and will not affect any functionality within the ASP CMS. Not all event types will require it.
🛡 Key Features of Cloudflare
Security & Protection
Helps mitigate DDoS attacks and blocks malicious traffic.
Performance & Speed
Uses a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to serve content to visitors worldwide.
Optimizes images, scripts, and other resources for quicker load times.
Reliability & Uptime
Helps keep your site online even if your server experiences issues.
Routes traffic to healthy servers automatically to reduce downtime.
🌐 How Cloudflare Works
When a visitor requests your ASP-built website, the request passes through Cloudflare first.
Cloudflare filters traffic, caches content, and delivers it to visitors efficiently.
Caching Note: Using Cloudflare may change how updates appear, so if you make changes in the CMS, you may need to purge Cloudflare caches to ensure updates show immediately.
Caches can be purged via Cloudflare Dashboard > Caching > Purge Cache, either fully or for specific URLs.
📌 Key Things to Remember
Optional Service: Adding Cloudflare is entirely optional; ASP’s hosting and servers are secure on their own.
CMS Compatibility: Adding Cloudflare does not affect any functionality within the ASP CMS.
Caching Considerations: Depending on setup, updates may require cache purging to reflect instantly.
Not Required for Every Event: Some events or sites may not need Cloudflare; it’s an extra layer for performance/security.
Support Note: If you experience any issues with Cloudflare, you will need to contact Cloudflare support directly, as ASP does not manage or troubleshoot this service.
