In some scenarios, you may need to share the same content across two or more ASP-built websites. For example, you might manage separate ASP websites but want to display identical speaker and programme data on each.
To avoid maintaining the same data in multiple places, we can set up an automated API sync. This ensures that any updates made on one ASP site are automatically reflected on the other ASP site(s), significantly reducing duplication of effort.
⚠️ Note: This API sync works only between ASP-built websites. It is similar to other API feeds and integrations provided by ASP but is not intended for external platforms or non-ASP websites.
🌐 How the API Sync Works
The sync uses our automated daily API feed, which runs once per day overnight (UK time).
One ASP website is designated as the source of data
Updates made on the source site are automatically pushed to the destination ASP site(s)
By default, data is synced daily
If required, the feed can also be run manually for immediate updates
⚙️ Setting Up the API Feed
API feeds must be configured by ASP. To get started, please raise a support ticket and our team will assist with setting up the required sync between your ASP websites.
▶️ Manually Running the API Feed
Once the feed has been set up, you can manually trigger it at any time by following these steps:
Open the destination ASP site
Log in to the back office of the site where the data is being imported.Access the relevant module
Go to Modules and select the module the feed has been configured for.Open the feed message
You will see a notification indicating that a live feed is active for this module. Select Click here.Edit the feed
On the next screen, you’ll see all feeds set up for that module (there may be multiple, depending on your configuration). Select Edit on the feed you want to run.Run the feed
Select Run Now from the options at the top of the page. The feed will begin syncing immediately.
⏱️ Please note: Depending on the volume of data being synced, the process can take up to 15 minutes to complete.
If you have any questions or would like assistance setting up an API sync between your ASP websites, please contact the ASP support team.
