Google Ads allows you to display dynamic advertisements, target specific audiences, and manage campaigns efficiently. This guide provides a basic workflow for integrating Google Ads with your ShowOff website.
Important: ASP does not provide support for Google Ads account creation or management. All setup and campaign management within Google Ads must be handled through Google Support. ASP can assist with installing the provided scripts into ShowOff once your account and ads are ready.
1️⃣ Create a Google Ads Account
Go to Google Ads
Sign in with your Google account or create a new one
Follow Google’s instructions to create your campaigns and generate ad code
-
Obtain the necessary scripts:
Panel/Widget Script – For embedding ads in pages or panels
Global
<head>Script – For site-wide tracking and ad functionality
Google provides guidance on campaign setup, targeting, and ad creation. ASP does not manage these steps.
2️⃣ Add Ads to Pages or Panels in ShowOff
To display ads on a specific page or panel:
Log in to ShowOff
Navigate to the page or panel where you want to show ads
Click Insert a Widget
Select Third-Party Code Widget
Paste the Panel/Widget Script provided by Google Ads
Save and publish the page
This allows the ads to appear exactly where the widget is placed.
3️⃣ Add the Global <head> Script in ShowOff
The Global <head> script must be added site-wide to enable proper tracking and display of ads:
Go to Settings > Site Settings > Third-Party Code
Paste the Global
<head>script provided by Google AdsSave changes
This ensures all ads and tracking scripts function correctly across the entire site.
4️⃣ Verify Your Ads
Refresh the page or panel where the widget was added
Check multiple devices and screen sizes to ensure proper display
Google Ads may take a few minutes to render after installation
5️⃣ Basic Troubleshooting
If ads do not appear as expected:
-
Check the Widget Script
Ensure the script is correctly pasted into a Third-Party Code Widget
Verify there are no extra spaces or missing characters
-
Check the Global
<head>ScriptConfirm it is added in Settings > Site Settings > Third-Party Code
Ensure it is saved correctly and published
-
Confirm Google Ads Account
Make sure the ad code provided by Google matches your active campaigns
Check that your ads are active in the Google Ads platform
-
Test Different Pages
Sometimes ad scripts may conflict with other scripts or page elements
Try adding the widget to a different page to see if it renders
-
Contact Support if Needed
For issues with installation into ShowOff, contact ASP support
For issues with account setup, ad creation, or targeting, contact Google Ads support

🛠️ Support Responsibilities: Google vs ASP
When setting up Google Ads in ShowOff, it’s important to know who handles what:
| Task | Responsibility |
|---|---|
| Creating a Google Ads account | Google – You will set up the account, campaigns, targeting, and ads. ASP does not provide support for account setup. |
| Creating or managing ads within Google Ads | Google – Includes ad formats, budgets, audience targeting, and campaign optimization. |
| Providing ad scripts (Panel/Widget <head> scripts) | Google – Once the campaign is created, Google provides the scripts to embed ads. |
| Installing scripts into ShowOff | ASP – We can assist with adding the Panel/Widget Script via a Third-Party Code Widget and the Global <head> Script via Settings > Site Settings > Third-Party Code. |
| Troubleshooting display issues in ShowOff | ASP – We can help confirm the scripts are correctly placed and troubleshoot issues with rendering on your site. |
| Troubleshooting issues within Google Ads (campaigns, targeting, ad approval) | Google – Contact Google support for ad approvals, targeting questions, or account issues. |
Key Point: ASP support is limited to installation and troubleshooting within ShowOff. Any setup, targeting, or management inside Google Ads itself must go through Google Support.
