Articles are the core content blocks within sections (rows) on your website. Each article can be styled and configured independently, giving you full control over how your content appears.
Article Types
ASP Showoff offers four main article styles:
Plain – Text-only, with no border or background.
Boxed – Adds a background behind your content (color, image, video, or pattern).
Bordered – Displays a visible border around the content.
Boxed & Bordered – Combines a background with a border for more visual impact.
Your Project Manager will set default styles, but you can override them for individual articles.
How to Edit an Article
Go to Pages in the back office and select the page you want to edit.
Click the cog icon on the article you wish to customise.

Tips for Efficient Article Management
Clone for consistency: Create one article with your preferred settings, then clone it to maintain consistent design across your page.
Full-image backgrounds: For full-height images beside text, use a boxed article and set the image as the background. Avoid placing the image in the body or image field to prevent display issues.
Section Layout Help: For guidance on arranging articles within sections, refer to the Sections video in the knowledge base.

Article Settings
A standard website page will comprise of various elements.
This will include sections and articles.
In our platform, we refer to the sections as the rows that appear across your content.
Articles are the items that appear inside the sections.
So as you'll see here, we have one section with four articles inside.
Below I have another section with three articles inside. The sections and the articles are set up independently.
There is another video that goes over the section settings.
This video will cover the article settings in your platform.
You will have 4 main article types. These are plain, boxed (which means that there is something behind the text), bordered, and boxed and bordered.
Your project manager will set up default settings for these styles. You can, however, completely overwrite these when you are editing your content. So for example, a plain article could have a different size, title or different colours.
The boxed article can have different coloured backgrounds, or different things in the background.
You could have images, and you can add corners to these. The bordered articles can have different size borders.
You can also change the colour and add corners.
And finally, we have a mixture of the two, which has both borders and something in the background.
To edit this, go into your back office, locate the Pages section, and then the page you wish to edit.
To edit the settings of each article, click on the little cog.
This is your article options. This is where you can set whether it is plain, boxed, bordered, or boxed and bordered.
Different options will appear depending on which item you choose.
All article styles will have an image type. If you add an image in this section, it will make the image appear at the top of your content. Browse to your image and you can add some alternative text. The alternative text will help website readers.
You can choose to hide or display the header and the body by toggling the switch.
Once you are done setting up the content part, you can move on to the settings.
This controls the actual fonts, colours, etc., that are in your article.
If you’ve chosen a boxed option, you’ll have the option to choose what background you would like.
You can choose a colour, a gradient, an image, a video, or a pattern.
If you choose colour, the colours from your palette will appear, or you can set a custom colour.
If you choose gradient, you can choose the direction (top to bottom or left to right), and again use your palette or customise the colours.
If you’ve chosen a bordered option, you’ll be able to choose the colour of your border and also the width.
If you don’t want to use the default, you can change it.
You can also add a corner radius—this is the rounded corner that appears around your articles.
There are 3 sizes: small, normal, and large.
You can also add animation, so when the page loads, the article will either fade in or fade in and slide up.
Moving on to the next tab, you can choose the shape in which your picture will appear.
It will either take the default setting or you can overwrite it.
For example, you could have one landscape picture and one portrait picture.
The next tab allows you to change the default settings for the header and the body.
You can change all the alignments, fonts, and sizes.
As you can see, if you want to customise each and every article, it may take a little more time.
It’s highly recommended that you set up one article first and then use the clone function to copy it. That way, your settings are copied and you can just change the content.
One final tip:
If you’d like to add an image that fills the entire box and matches the height of content next to it, use a boxed style article and set the image as the background of the article.
Do not put the image inside the body or add it via the image field.
If you do, a small green line will appear underneath.
Instead, remove the image from the body and image field, and set it as a background.
It will then fill the entire space of the article.
