Introduction
To help ASP optimise your website's tracking and analytics setup, you’ll need to invite their team to your Google Tag Manager (GTM) account with Publish access. This allows ASP to configure and deploy tracking tags effectively. Once their work is complete, we recommend reducing their access to View Only to maintain control over your account.
This guide will take you through the process step by step.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Log into Google Tag Manager
-
Go to Google Tag Manager.
-
Sign in with the Google account associated with your GTM container.
2. Select Your GTM Container
-
If you have multiple containers, select the correct one for the website you need ASP to access.
3. Open the User Management Section
-
In the Admin panel (found in the left-hand menu), select User Management.
4. Add a New User
-
Click on the + button in the top-right corner.
-
Select Add User.
-
Enter the following email address in the Email field:
asp.events.cro@gmail.com -
Under Permissions, tick the box for Publish to allow ASP to make necessary updates.
-
Click Invite to send the invitation.
5. Confirm the Invitation
ASP will receive an email invitation to access your Google Tag Manager. Once they accept it, they will be able to assist with tracking setup and optimisations.
After ASP Has Completed Their Work
Once ASP has made the necessary changes and confirmed their work is complete, we recommend adjusting their access level to View Only for security and control. You can do this by returning to User Management, selecting their user profile, and changing the permission level.
