ShowOff Update - November 2024
This month we've focussed on adding some nice helper text around ShowOff to aid people with SEO and other tricky settings/actions. We've also made CAPTCHA mandatory for any forms that send emails.
New Features and Improvements
- We now display a warning on the ShowOff dashboard if Event Schema settings have not been populated. This will be displayed until at least half of the SEO fields have been filled in.
- To better secure our websites against malicious attackers, new forms can no longer send emails unless a form of CAPTCHA is enabled.
- When deleting exhibitors, we’ll now warn you if that exhibitor has library entries which will also be deleted as part of the process.
- We’ve removed the unnecessary “Apply Canonical Tags to Pages” settings, it will now always be set to “Yes” under-the-hood.
- We’ve added some helpful text to point people in the right direction when changing a site’s 404 page within site settings.
- We’ve moved a few scripts out of <head> to improve performance.
- The new E-Zone now supports SSO into Iceni for the completion of exhibitor registration tasks.
Bug-Fixes
- We’ve fixed a bug in the new zone which could prevent pages from being deleted in specific circumstances.
- Resolved a problem that prevented country fields from being pre-populated in forms.
- Fixed a spooky bug that could cause the mandatory setting against exhibitor fields to mysteriously change.
- Resolved a problem in the new zone when exhibitors were trying to send welcome emails to their colleagues on the “Manage Exhibitor Contacts” page.
